about
Our Mission
We want to bridge the gap between needs that exist within our communities and the opportunities within the homebuilding industry to meet those needs.
How we accomplish our mission..
By building career pathways into the homebuilding industry for students, young people and individuals looking for a career-change or a second-chance.
By creating curriculum that educates students, parents, individuals, and educators about the careers and opportunities available in the homebuilding industry.
By providing the Navigator Program and work-based learning opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing careers in the homebuilding industry
By being a hub, a place that can connect community partners who have needs to trade partners who want to support them and can provide assistance in those areas of need.
By creating opportunities to expose individuals to the viable, profitable careers within the homebuilding industry
By staying connected in an ever-changing industry, and always staying readily available and seeking opportunities to serve our communities further.
WE VALUE
People.
Relationships.
Respect.
Collaboration.
Possibility.
OUR TEAM
Scott Wentz, Founder
Scott has 35 years of homebuilding experience, and he is passionate about this industry being an answer to the needs our communities face. Builders Bridge came out of an idea that he wanted to create an opportunity for individuals coming out of prison to get a second chance and a shot at a career. His initial passion has developed into a regionally recognized name that is employing the next generation in real jobs, right now, and with no debt.
Jake Kennedy, Executive Director
Jake is responsible for leading and sustaining Builders Bridge. Jake creates momentum by showing up and speaking up for young people as their advocate for employment and opportunity.
As Executive Director for Builders Bridge, Jake will work alongside community partners, industry partners, and funders to strengthen the mission and vision of Builders Bridge.
Jake is an alumnus of Gardner-Webb University, where he played collegiate golf and served as Student Body President in 2018. He currently lives in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Kate, and their son, Shepherd. He loves being outdoors and finding joy in activities with others.
